Avi is a musician, instrument-maker, tea fanatic and lifelong co-op supporter. He has been involved in advocacy for local systems in two states. He believes that healthy, organic, fresh, and local food is a basic human right, so it seemed like a perfect fit when he was invited to join the Prickly Pear Food Coop board of directors. Avi is very excited to help make health food accessible for all in the Truth or Consequences area.
Heather is one of the founders of PPFC. Some of her proudest accomplishments include homeschooling and raising 3 children as stewards of the land and a better humanity; practicing home birth midwifery; working at a food co-op; teaching art in many community settings; decades of direct-action international activism; living, farming and building with the land on an off-grid homestead; making plant medicines infused with love and magic; writing award-winning poems and stories; and serving on boards of directors for co-op, midwifery, and community organizations.
It is Paula’s pleasure to serve our community as board scribe of the PPFC. She has been involved with the co-op since its first introductory electronic meeting, when it was just a dream. As a team player, Paula offers strong organizational, analytical and clerical skills. With a firm belief in the cooperative values, Paula is committed to aid in this worthy cause. She loves the fresh, organic, naturally healthy food options that the co-op brings to our community.
Meghan joined to PPFC in 2025 after deciding to stay in Sierra County and purchasing the Hillsboro General Store Cafe. A lifelong foodie and culinarian for over 20 years, she is passionate about good healthy food with minimal “junk”. Raised by a mother who always had a bountiful organic garden, it's in her blood. She’s excited about seeing the PPFC grow and looking forward to the next steps we need to take to realize the dream of having a brick and mortar store!
